We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. The parking lot was nearly full, and there was a long line outside. Despite only seeing three staff members, the service was prompt and friendly. Everyone around us seemed pleased with their meals. One of my favorite stops. From the owner/employees to the food and locations, it's a little slice of heaven in the Northwoods.
Love....love....love this adorable little shanty in the Northwoods. It is a must stop for ice cream when we are at our cabin in Mercer. A little bit of a drive but definitely worth it plus you might see a deer along the way!!!!
Delicious ice cream! Super friendly and nice staff. Very quick to get our order. They have a nice outdoor seating area too but if it's sunny and hot then I'd avoid it because the flies really go after you. Definitely the best ice cream in the area though we have had some of the other local staples and they don't compare in a lot of ways.
Stopped for dinner on a Sunday night. Was bicycling so few options close to town. The Ice Shanty was busy and for a good reason. They offer gyros, corn dogs and the usual suspects. Best of all, their ice cream is excellent! I will make a point of stopping next time in town.
