What Critic C dislikes about Boulder Creek Brewery Cafe:
I’m surprised this rundown place didn’t close down years ago. It’s the most shabby brewpub I’ve encountered in my 40 years. The atmosphere is extremely casual, the prices are reasonable, but the service is lacking, and the food is just decent. I would only go about once every five years, usually when I was cabin camping in Big Basin Redwoods, since it was the only pub in town that served food. The last time I visited... View all feedback.

The food is generally quite good, but they're rarely open during their stated business hours. It would be great to have a reliable breakfast spot in town that actually operates when it's supposed to.
We stopped here for some burgers after a hike. It was delicious! However, it is cash only so plan accordingly.
It is not open. Google says 8am the sign on the door says 7am. I'm here at 8:05am and nobody is here. That's bad business.
The cafe was empty when we arrived, and the server was very attentive, always keeping our glasses filled. The atmosphere was okay, but it felt a bit cold inside. My only suggestion would be to change the tablecloths to something a bit brighter to liven up the space. The prices seemed a little on the higher side, which is why we skipped ordering coffee. All in all, I’d give it 4 stars. Vegetarian options: They have great vegetarian choices, and I really appreciate that they offer a tofu scramble as a protein-packed egg substitute. Thank you!
New favorite for breakfasts in Boulder Creek and SLV. Coffee was great start. Had eggs. Sausages and home fries. No sign of greesy anything from food to order. Fist class, heated plates, large coffee cups and clean restrooms. And Great food.Give it a try.
The Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery Outpost is a cozy mountain pub that offers a mix of casual dining and community spirit. While it boasts a friendly atmosphere and vegetarian options, inconsistencies in service, food quality, and opening hours detract from its appeal. Guests have noted issues with food preparation, order accuracy, and temperature comfort. Despite these challenges, visitors appreciate its reasonable prices and connection to the local community, making it a potential go-to spot for those exploring the area.

Terrible staff. The beer was disappointing, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. If they want to attract customers in the future, they really need to reconsider their closing shift employee from 9/1. There were some chairs and a fan outside, and it looked like coworkers were drinking inside. When I asked if they were closed, her response was, "What do you think it looks like?" - which was extremely rude. Perhaps it's not the best idea to allow your employees to drink while keeping the bay door open.
The food was outstanding, and they offered an impressive variety of microbrews. I would definitely return!
Bummer, they told me the original burned out brewery across the street will not reopen but current place is very intimate.
Awesome place and both Sara's are great and make you feel at home!
