We booked to have the Autumn Afternoon Tea as a treat and it was exceptionally good. We loved the character of The Sack Store, and the first floor café is so cosy and relaxing. What 535jacquiw doesn't like about Sack Store Emporium:
Visited the store today, disappointed yet again. Wanted to have a drink and something to eat but no tables downstairs where we had to sit because we had a dog. The guy that greeted me upstairs said they were reserved which I accepted. Only one reserved sign on one table that we could see and nobody sat downstairs at all. Have to say this is the fourth time we have been and not had good service and food/drinks have no... View all feedback.
We booked to have the Autumn Afternoon Tea as a treat and it was exceptionally good. We loved the character of The Sack Store, and the first floor café is so cosy and relaxing. We were booked in as 24 hours notice is required for afternoon tea. We were offered a choice of tables as we went mid afternoon, so missed the lunchtime rush. The quality and variety of the food was impressive, with a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, and savoury scones. Then there were the cakes and pastries, and a gorgeous lemon syllabub. Tea and coffee were unlimited. The flavours were amazing, as was the presentation and attention to detail. The staff were lovely, and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and will certainly return. Very highly recommended.
We have chosen this restaurant as our preferred venue for Thursday morning management team meetings. The private pseudo-sideroom gives us a sense of seclusion. The food and drinks are of good quality. Andy always greets us warmly and provides excellent and attentive service.
Actually went to buy some floor tiles but decided to stop for a bit of lunch , best idea we had , food was first class and so was the service , as good as any restaurant we have ever visited , would highly recommend . The staff on the shop floor was out standing they could not help enough
I took my friend to the Sack Store for breakfast. I had been there before and thought it was wonderful, so I thought we would enjoy our morning before Christmas shopping. However, this time was quite disappointing. It was busy but not overly so. I have a lot of experience in the hospitality industry and now train others in customer service. I ordered the small breakfast but asked for no egg due to an allergy. I also requested an extra slice of toast, but was told substitutions were not allowed. Our drinks took a long time to arrive, and my hot chocolate came without the cream it was supposed to have. When our meals finally arrived, my breakfast plate had an egg on it, despite my request. I informed the server about my allergy, and he apologized. He then brought my toast with a hash brown because it had been forgotten from the main plate. The hash brown was undercooked and barely warm. Overall, I was very disappointed with this experience at a place that I had previously held in high regard.
Very good indeed fast service very good value for money very friendly and helpful staff very good selection of cake
