The dining room was fairly quiet at 6 PM on Saturday. The waiter was attentive, with a wonderful personality and great energy. The food was excellent, although the portions were a bit smaller than expected. We had a lovely dinner and truly enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be returning! View all feedback.
What TeresaG doesn't like about Kestra:
The service was quite disappointing. We had to wait a long time to be seated for our reservation, and it took a while to receive menus and water. Our order was slow to be taken, drinks took their time to arrive, and getting the check was also a lengthy process, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. This restaurant is located inside the Omni hotel, which I didn’t realize at first. I had a 9:30 reservation, but when we arrived, we stood at the host station for 10 minutes while the staff and bartenders completely ignored us. Finally, another party waiting with us approached the bar, and the bartender casually mentioned, “Oh, it’s seat yourself; you need to order at the bar.” It would have been helpful if they had at least removed the sign that said “wait here to be seated.” When I mentioned our reservation, the bartender merely pointed us to a table in the back. We finally sat down around 9:45, and as soon as we placed our drink order, they announced the last call. This is totally unacceptable, especially on New Year’s Eve. To top it off, our bill was $80 for two drinks (which were among the worst I’ve had in the city), a salad, and a falafel wrap. The only redeeming part of our experience was our waiter, who was very friendly and engaged in conversation, though he was trying to manage all the tables by himself. I would not recommend this place unless it’s a last-minute option and you’re okay with settling for mediocrity.

The food was uniquely amazing, and the service was excellent.
Long time waiting to place our order. The place seemed understaffed
Food was just so-so. The place was very short-staffed; although we had a reservation, and a sign upon entry said wait to be seated, it turned out there was no hostess on duty that night, and after waiting several minutes we had to flag the bartender for assistance. Our server, however was fantastic. we never felt ignored even though she was the only server on. The salmon dish was overcooked and not very flavorful. The lumache was boring and too rich, with no flavor of the pancetta or black pepper, just a cloying, heavy vodka sauce that seemed to have too much dairy in it. If staying at the Omni another time, I 'd try the breakfast at Kestra, but wouldn 't go back for dinner.
