What Dave Kunze doesn't like about Chen's Kitchen:
I tried this restaurant today for the first and probably the last time. The crab rangoons were hard and taste as if they were microwaved; the steamed dumplings were thick and tasted like they were half steamed. The house fried rice was okay. View all feedback.
Decent Chinese For Those On a Budget. My old man goes to Chen's Kitchen so often they know him by name. It's fairly close to where we live, so we frequently stop for fast food Chinese. It's decent, meaning, it's filled with MSG and all that is bad for you, and tastes good when you need a fix.<br/ <br/ Here's the lo-down Gemma style.<br/ <br/ THE GOOD:<br/ The food is good.....good grub, for a lack of a better description. It's greasy, MSG filled Chinese food. The lo mein, crab rangoon, beef with broccoli, sweet and sour shrimp are all amazing. I like the crispy noodles and wonton soup, too. The best part about this food? <br/ IT IS CHEAP.<br/ $20.00 gets you more food than you and your date can eat. Order $20.00 of food to go and I promise you can't eat it all. It's GREAT for a family on a budget.<br/ <br/ THE BAD:<br/ It's greasy, MSG filled ****. It most likely will be one of the many reasons you will die, if the heat in Louisiana and the alcohol consumption during Mardi Gras, LSU football season, or any other day of the week you choose to booze doesn't first.<br/ <br/ THE UGLY:<br/ The location is ca-ca. Next door to this place there is a sleazy, and I use that term loosely, Lil Ceasers. My old man got hassled by two dudes looking for money outside the place one night and thought he was gonna have to pull out the guns. Beware......
We get it ALL of the time! Hidden secret! Delicious!
5 stars. We go there all the time! They have the best crab Rangoon and fried rice! 6 Rangoon for 2.50! AMAZING!!! Be sure to get egg drop soup too!!!
I had just left the doctor, was starved and had a 3 hours trip home, so I looked at Google to find a Chinese trip, preferably with roasted potstickers. The first couple that was listed was gone from the direction I was led, one was extremely expensive and two were closed, so I decided for Chen’s Kitchen in Bossier based on the location, prices and Google reviews. When we were in the entrance to the restaurant, we were hard at the back and had to wait for EMS and police. I called the restaurant and he came out of the door and to our car to check us out and on my request he said he would keep my food warm for me. We had to wait a good time before we could go, so I knew she was soggy, but it was okay, I was Hangry!! When my friend came in to get it for me, he cooked a fresh order on site! They were sharp and were absolutely delicious When I came home, I ate the few who were left and they were just as delicious. I wish I had got two or three orders!! Great food, great price for a good size portion and wonderful, friendly service! This is my place. I can't wait until my next trip to Bossier/Shreveport so I can go to more!!
