What Esperanza Davis doesn't like about Wa Fu Japanese Restaurant:
"Peacewind" fails to live up to its name as a symbol of peace. Contrary to what customers might expect, the dining experience at Peacewind is a disappointment. The Japanese cuisine served is not authentic and the service feels more like that of a small family-run restaurant. The staff tries to please but ultimately falls short.
This was very close to being a perfect suburban Japanese culinary experience for me, with just a few little beuls keeping it from my new native.
After my favorite Japanese restaurant in balwyn changed hands (and quality) I was desperate to find another place to satisfy my demand for perfect.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was of superb quality and the portion sizes were very generous. I will definitely be returning!
There is a hidden gem called Wa Fu located on the north side of the railway on Burke Road. It offers a large menu featuring traditional Japanese dishes. During our visit, we tried the "Beef" bento box, chicken yakitori, and noodles. Everything was extremely delicious and of high quality, all at very affordable prices. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
