Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant, Stefan's, has a charming old-school atmosphere that some may find quirky, but overall the meal is good. The set menu is limited and a bit overpriced, but the steaks are cooked well and the service is attentive. The restaurant is known for its simple yet delicious steak options, with a focus on charcoal-grilled meats. Stefan himself is considered a master of cooking the meat. The BYO option helps offset the high prices, making it a worthwhile dining experience for steak lovers. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner with loved ones.
Special: Monday night 270g porterhouse or scotch for $39 We really wanted charcoal grill and our usual place was closed so we googled and found this place.
Met up with my wife's friends as he recommended this place It's a bit quirky as the set menu is very limited to say the least but it worked well and overall it was a good meal But ... $90 per head the $15 per head corking as it's offers BYO is hellish expensive! Starter is $10 max main $40 max desert $10 so that makes its $30 per head over priced so 5 of us $150 for basically nothing !Don't get me wrong it's good / dated quirky but good but I've paid less for a better steak elsewhere
Ok, we are all after different things when we go to a restaurant. If you decide to go to this place, you need to know that this place is all about the steak, and a friendly home-style service. They are good at what they do and offer. And that is why I rated it 5 out of 5. I read most of the reviews about this place and I agree with those that hail the place for the steak. It is pretty simple and straight forward, you just have to choose your meat and how you like it cooked. The rest is just about enjoying the experience. It is a quiet and simple place, and good to go with a few close ones. Recommended any time, many times!
Spending a few days in Melbourne for a conference turned up this gem. Charming staff and a simple set menu so you and they can focus on excellent charcoal grilled meat. There are two starters and maybe four deserts, then it's all about selecting the meat and the cut. We had porterhouse angus beef - cooked to perfection. A simple set of accompaniments - salad, chips, mustard and horseradish. Also good list of robust wines and a BYO option.Simply excellent
This restaurant has been around for 20+ years and thankfully, hasn't changed. A simple menu for the steak lover. The cevapcici (sausage) as a starter was great, a perfectly cooked steak, with chips, and a simple selection for desert. Regrettably the wine list is typically way over priced for this type of restaurant so remember to BYO wine. The service is excellent, welcoming and attentive and to have the waiter open the door when you leave and wish you well is a gesture lost everywhere else.
