Not much to look at when you find it, melamine tables and plates. The food is delicious with menu items listed with a chilli count 2 for hot 3 for very hot. Serving sizes are large so be careful you don't order too much. They did offer takeaway containers for our left overs. Don't know what authentic Sichuan tastes like but this is the best I have every eaten...... spicy numbing goodness. View all feedback.
What cspilla doesn't like about Sichuan Diningroom:
I am not a picky eater, but I was unable to eat the bowl of oil that was served to me at this restaurant. It was supposed to be soup with wontons, but it was inedible. I was hoping for some vegetables, but the options were limited and expensive, similar to my disappointing bowl of soup. View all feedback.
The menu at this restaurant offers a variety of unique dishes that cater to their Asian clientele. If you enjoy affordable Sichuan-style spicy food, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is relatively peaceful and the service is quick. The fish fillets in chili oil are a standout dish, with fresh fish and flavorful broth that is not overpowering. It is perfect for a chilly day. However, the glutinous rice dessert was a bit lacking in flavor.

Most of the dishes are spicy. Sichuan Spicy. For those who enjoy eating Sichuan food- do pay this restaurant a visit. Its not fancily set up, however, the dishes are quite authentic. Compared to the other Sichuan restaurants in Melbourne CBD- this will be on the top of the list. If you can't eat spicy food- there are mildly spiced dishes.
My friends and I frequently gather at this restaurant for delicious Sichuan cuisine at a fraction of the price compared to other Sichuan eateries. We enjoy spicy food, but this restaurant doesn't make their dishes as spicy as others, making it a perfect place to introduce our non-Sichuan cuisine loving friends. Despite visiting more than 10 times, we've noticed that we've never seen a non-Asian patron dining here. We believe this is due to its discreet location, which adds to its authenticity and charm. We have no complaints about that! :)
