Madam Kwong's Kitchen - Boroondara

Had a great lunch here at the Nonya Mdm Kwong.The wait staff were a little pressed as the kitchen was not only making demands of them but they also had to wait on customers and take their orders.One more staff would have been good.The Penang Hokkien Mee was good and the Fish Tumis with coconut rice was exceptional. Hot tea was a welcome on this cold winter day and to make it better we were offered more tea for the wait we endured and not because of their lack of effort.

I regularly buy my Kueh from here but am disappointed when they are a day old, it's not enjoyable to eat especially the ang ku Kueh, instead of nice chewy texture it's leathery. If you are going to sell yesterdays Kueh than its should be half price...

This is a very small eatery. Not ideal for big groups, let alone getting a table. However if you're into take-away, the food is really good.

Had a fantastic lunch here at Madam Kwong's Nonya. The Yong Tau Foo is really generous in a small bowl and a different but Nonya curry which is a milder version curry. The Penang Hokkien Mee or Prawn Mee isn't too bad either but the Prawn soup was not potent enough. The Curry Chicken is spectacular and has a lovely curry flavor but the roti tasted like the frozen variety you get in the pack.

Frozen Durians included. A variety of pre-packed ready to cooked sauces also available for the convenience of those who prefer to cook their dishes at home.
