Dined with friends here for a yumcha. The place was quite empty and subsequently the choice of food was very poor. The quality was lacking and fillings light on. Some dishes were quite greasy. The staff were lovely and courteous but unfortunately the place needs a makeover. I hope it picks up for them. View all feedback.
What Santino Brown doesn't like about Eastern Court Restaurant:
Not worth the pricey menu. All our dishes had no flavour and the fried rice was the worst we've ever eaten..... It had no flavour and tasted as if it had been frozen Will never go there again View all feedback.
Lovely hosts who own and run the business- they are a very friendly and accommodating older couple. Great food and ambience with a very good range- if you ring prior and organise Duck etc you will get a greater choice. All restaurants in this area...More
We hadn't been back to Eastern Court for about 4 years and it didn't take long to realise why. The staff are the best thing about it, they do try hard although the owner can be a bit overbearing always trying to "upsell" your order. Background music is played to create a pleasant atmosphere, but at times it became quite overbearing although it was turned down once the restaurant started to fill. The food is ok but nothing special and every item was somewhat overpriced against other comparable local Chinese restaurants. We didn't ask for Prawn Crackers but they were put on our table and we presumed them to be complimentary - everywhere else gives them to you free - but they were charged on the bill too. However not the worst place we've been too but we won't be going back there anytime soon. Eastern Bell on Belmore Road is much better overall.
A friendly service and good atmosphere for families. This restaurant is good for dinner but the Yum Cha is average. The choice of dishes was limited at that time.I have been there for dinner and it was enjoyable. Oysters were big and schuckled. Music and singing was great.
I have not been to this place for years. It used to be a great restaurant but things have slipped. Food average service very slow. For mid week lunch you would expect better.
We used a gift taste food card, we chose the Peking duck which was brought to the table on a table cut and placed in pancakes for us omg sensational, the taste wow. The service was excellent with the owner going out of his way to try to make our visit a lovely one. Prices were good with 1/2 the duck (plenty for two) being about $30 ish. For a local restaurant absolutely recommend. Plenty of tables with many Asian clients always a good sign if they choose to eat their traditional food at a restaurant.
