A new host is running the osteria Grütli. It has been discretely renovated which leaves a lot of the original building and its character. The cuisine is home-made and offers a choice of typical local dishes. Prices are reasonable (when thinking in overvalued Swiss Francs - a different story in Euros of course.) What User doesn't like about Osteria Grutli:
the osteria is very comfortable and good, especially in the evening at the round table. but we were in the garden over midday. the selection is polenta with sausages, mushrooms or trout. the polenta rosso is quite fad, who likes sausage has at least a bit of a spice from there, the tender but also fade forelle but does not make it better. all at a rather high price-performance ratio.Over midday not recommended for me... A very pleasant lunch in this restaurant in Camedo, on the main road through this valley side city street not so busy when we were there. There was a choice of net, see photo. We sat under a vineyard on the street. The service was good and they spoke English, I paid contactless costs of meal Swiss Francs 60, £54) i aldehyde pay in SF, as I find the exchange rate is better.
Very friendly staff, amazing landscape, very special architecture, historic building, good food, good vines, fresh air.
We randomly stumbled over this restaurant after a morning spent in one of the valleys over Camedo. Our plan was to have only one drink, but the menu looked so tempting that we decided to stay for lunch. The meal consisted of home made pasta followed by a delicious home made panna cotta and was served on a beautiful, vine shaded terrace opposite the hotel. Service was friendly and welcoming.

The only negative to mention is the traffic of the Italian cross-border workers during rush-hours.
We stop to remake and enjoy the view of the place after several km riding our bikes. we find this lovely little place well maintained and loved by the two artists who manage it. curious about what the food at km0 can offer we are served a local sandwich with cheese and thirsty from the fatigue to get up there we drink two bottles of mineral water per person. after the compliments for simplicity and goto offered we are going to pay. 42 euros for 4 liters of water and two cheese sandwiches?!?!? it was not understood if they were 21 euros in total or 21 euros per person as at the time of payment (without receipt) the rest of 50 euros were only 8 euros! I'm sorry because the two artists seemed friendly and hospitable but their dishonestness ruined the enchanting feeling that gives the place. Watch out!
