What Margaret H doesn't like about Villa Coloniale:
Within 10 minutes of arrival I had a glass of wine spilled down the back of my blouse and was soaking wet. The waiter made out it was my fault because I moved, no apology was given. The waiter was sullen and seemed in a bad mood so my husband asked that someone else waited at our table. The owner/manager came to speak with us who also did not apologise. Food arrived and the plates and dishes were boiling hot although... View all feedback.
In view of the current daily temperatures of regularly over 30 °C, Madame had no desire to cook, and we remembered the long neglected Kiel coupon book. The choice for today fell on Villa Coloniale in Bordesholm, an institution in this place for several years. On-site parking was completely occupied and on Wednesday in school holidays. We took it as a good sign and found a parking lot in front of the neighboring “Old Post”. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a grey-haired man who leaned on the vase. I answered his question about our wishes: “A place for two?” “That’s still going,” he answered and offered us two different small tables in the already well-occupied guest room. Terrace area from outside But meanwhile we had registered the students in the guest room and asked for a table outside, so in this case on a terrace over which a roof could be closed. Then the man who was probably the boss of the house led us to the terrace and gave us a table. There we hardly had room when he had the menus and then disappeared into the restaurant interior. Shortly afterwards, an operation came to our table and asked if we already had drinks. Madame ordered a mineral water (0,25l for 2,20 €, I waved as I wanted to look into the map. The complete menu is stored on the restaurant's homepage, but the prices mentioned there are not up to date: [here link] The prices of the printed card in the restaurant are approx. 1,00 € higher than HP. We had already pre-orientated on the homepage so that the selection was not difficult: we ordered “Pizza Frutti the Mare, with shrimps, Calamari and river cancer” (11.50 €) and I ordered a soft white beer (0.5l for 3.90 €). On the homepage the price for this pizza is € 10.00. The operation took up the order, thanked and disappeared in the house. Shortly afterwards she served the ordered yeast white beer and brought a basket with white bread slices and a plate with herbal oil. The bread was a bit darker and also a little firmer than the usual white bread and tasted very well with the oil. However, as the herbs contained were dried, the aroma did not really come to bear. It took a while until the two pizzas were served. First the enormous size fell: The dough flakes had approx. 32 cm in diameter! Then the edge: vaulted, crispy and loose, which clearly looked like a stone oven. The dough under the lining was evenly thin and also in the middle still capable of carrying so that you can find nothing. Even when coating was not economical, the seafoods mentioned were abundant. But what did the chopped fresh parsley look for on this pizza? For this, the Mediterranean herbs were completely disappeared, did they land in the oil that was given before? In addition, we actually know that only seafood is pre-stored in garlic oil. This was not happening here, so the taste of pizza was quite “flat”. A little later, the cartridge came to our table to clear the plates. In his question whether it tasted, Madame confronted him with the missing Mediterranean herbs. Then there is a wordful explanation of us, if we had ordered these herbs... Not like that! We don't cook here, the kitchen personnel have to do it themselves. We had no desire to discuss the garlic. We then tried several times to draw attention to one of the passing services we wanted to pay. Only a press ring with the cutlery at the empty mineral water bottle then succeeded, we paid and left the place somewhat disappointed.

We were a group of 9 who go out regularly but will not go there again.
