This is a real hiden GemSmall, with a few tables, better to make a reservationFood is deliciously good: steak, scallops and 3 side dish.
Saturday night in Bordeaux, our first night. We knew the area we wanted to go, but didn't imagine that everything would be booked up. We'll know for the next time. After trying 6/7 places, we stumbled upon Le Gem, which was nicely busy, but had room.We had a wonderful meal, with great service, at a reasonable fixed price.A feature is that you pick your own wine fro the rack, with expert assistance. And we chose a cracker! After two meals elsewhere, we went back for our last night and it was even better.Wonderful ice cream
This restaurant is located on a quiet street away from the touristy restaurants in the square. The outdoor seatings were in the shade across from the main restaurant, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The menu of the day was written on the black board in French, the prix fixe menu was interesting and reasonable (under 17euros). Our waiter spoke English and was very nice. We were given the English menu but the prix fixe were at higher price. We ordered from the French menu and were very impressed with the meal. The salmon and the veal were cooked perfectly. The side dishes were mashed potato and roasted vegetables. The waiter said the mashed potato was the best in the world, WE AGREED!We highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, quality meal, reasonable price, nice atmosphere!
We found this little restaurant just off Place St.Georges and were tempted by their plat du jour. Offering a choice of 3 starters, 4 mains, & dessert or coffee. All for €17. We took an outside table and were served very promptly. The food was excellent. Pate & salad starters, with mains of beef cooked on skewers which was done exactly as we had ordered..
