Dubern - Bordeaux

The service and food in this "upscale" restaurant were disappointing. The waiters were dismissive and a bit arrogant. The food was nothing more than ordinary. Every other restaurant we've enjoyed in this city was remarkable. Not a good choice in a city with fabulous food.

We chose the restaurant for its proximity to our hotel. we were 7 and needed to eat firly early because one guest was a little girl. The staff could not have been more accommodating -even gave us a room to ourselves on the upper level, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious, if not exceptional. Best were the little calamari stuffed with crab in a spicy sauce, cold pea soup with wasabi sorbet a croustillant de canard (a kind of nem with confit de canard) served with fabulous puree of potatoes, and grilled fresh tuna. The lemon meringue tart was also terrific.

Food was no up to standard. Pretty bad quality food and bad cocked. The service was fine. We ordered for a tuna ceviche that it wasn't a tuna ceviche and that we could not even eat it. Same happened with the mains... disaster.

Excellent restaurant set in the heart of Bordeaux Fab three course meal with a glass of Bordeaux to complement the meal.

We went here because my husband had been here many years ago, but it was not as good as he remembered. The food was OK, but not great and certainly not memorable. The mashed potatoes were potato soup. Thought it was over priced for quality and extremely slow service.
