Enjoyed a leisurely Sunday brekky under the trees behind Indian Mehfil today in the new Laneway 116 cafe. Took the Sunday papers with us and started with a good flat white. From a very well priced menu I chose the Housemade beans with sourdough, ham and poached eggs. Tasty beans arrived in a little cast iron pot, topped with 2 big soft poached eggs, a slice of ham and buttered crunchy sourdough. Hubbys big board bre... View all feedback.
What KohaKitsch dislikes about 116 Laneway:
Its been a couple of years that this place has had time to establish itself so I thought I'd give it another go with a group of friends. Upon reaching the container housing the service area there was a table covered in dirty dishes an absolute eyesore and buzzing with flies as the entire cafe is outside. Fabulous cafe. Great location. Our group of 11 were well looked after this morning for a family breakfast at this cafe. The staff were charming, efficient and couldn't do enough for us. Staff 10 out 10. Food excellent we all enjoyed what we had ordered. The coffee/hot chocolates were steaming hot, just what was needed on this very cold and windy day. We can thoroughly recommend this cafe . Will be returning very soon. Great place to seat and relax with friends. What a gem for Ipswich. I would like to recommend to the owners that a children's menu be greatly appreciated. As we had 4 young children with us today and there was no child's menu to choose from, but that will not stop us from visiting again in the near future.
I went to this restaurant recently with my son and his girlfriend. It's a trendy little place with a great vibe. We enjoyed the marshmallow overload dessert and my son said the oreo iced chocolate was the best he's ever had. The blankets on the chairs were a nice touch, especially as it started to get a little chilly. The service was friendly and quick. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a restaurant. Well done on creating such a trendy and lovely place. We love it.
The Laneway crew is always welcoming, not just to me but also to my toy dog, Henry. He enjoys his bowl of water from the staff, while I enjoy a delicious breakfast and a refreshing drink from the menu. Thanks, Laneway... I find myself spending more time here at 116 than at my station 4BC.
It's fantastic Really relaxing and the service was great The meals are beautifully presented and reasonably priced I would definitely go there again
Wandered into The Laneway with pooch a couple of friends in tow. We were delighted by the colourful array of plants both real plastic the retro seating. Bright, colourful chairs stools completed the picture book look. The coffee was also a winner, I ordered a double shot flat white it came out perfectly presented with a pretty daisy on the top. My friends cappuccino was the same, but the daisy was done with piped chocolate looked so cool. Flavorwise the coffee was spot on. Thanks for the review MB it was pet friendly too

Great food and great service. We love coming here for our Sunday breaky. Keep up the good work. Highly recommend the big breakfast but bring your appetite.
Its been a couple of years that this place has had time to establish itself so I thought I'd give it another go with a group of friends. Upon reaching the container housing the service area there was a table covered in dirty dishes an absolute eyesore and buzzing with flies as the entire cafe is outside. We all placed our orders, poor communication, once we finished relaying what we wanted we were told there was no coffee as it hadn't arrived that day. Service hasn't changed the decor is now tired looking and the plants dead. Needless to say we had to go elsewhere to get our coffee fix. Let me reasure you second time fail is the last time for me!
Our first visit exceeded expectations. Presentation of food was contemporary and smart. Chicken salad and Boston Burger. Chicken salad was excellent and of large portion. Boston burger a little on the small, though it comes with excellent chips. And the Boston Burger with 'pulled pork ' was very pleasant. First impression visually is a somewaht eccentric space, a little 'Bali ' Cafe like experience. Then it goes down hill. Broken and busted chairs and planters lying around next to the dinning area is never a good look. But perhaps it 's authentically 'Balinese '? More so i suggest, a lack of attention to detail of presentation. Some work to do on presentation and this is a fine experience. Which is sad because the associated 'Indian Mehfi ' restaurant next door seems very well presented, and we really want to visit.
With great thanks to Google Maps I found this laneway cafe. Great spot with a surprisingly large amount of seating. I'm here for a light breakfast and coffee. This place is also a bar as well! Might have to pop in later. Great value menu. I opted for the creamy scrambled eggs with grilled Haloumi cheese, which in my opinion should be on all breakfast menus. This meal was altered in the fact that I didn't want the bread and opted for a side of mushrooms. Which as you can see is massive! And can't forget the smashed avocado. Coffee is great as well. And the service is smart and friendly. The other breakfast items all sounded great and great value dollar wise. Top spot. Cheers Dan

During my visit to Sandy the week of 9/25/17 I stopped here for carry out lunchThe store manager assisted meShe was kind and efficient.
Hidden between buildings this quaint little cafe reflects the ladies that own the business. Fantastic coffee and a great muffin served in a coffee cup ( never seen that before.
Stopped in with hubby to indulge in one of their highly recommended shakes however the caramel one I wanted was off the menu which was a little disappointing. Hubby had the Tim Tam shake and saying it was indulgent is an understatement. He thoroughly enjoyed it and I helped him out! Staff seemed very grumpy and the girl serving acted as though she was doing us a great favour. Doesn't cost anything to smile and have good manners!
