I had the short ribs, while my husband opted for the steak, and both dishes were delicious. I highly recommend this place for a high-quality meal.
Boothbay may not be known as a culinary destination, but BHCC has the potential to change that. The food was excellent, featuring delightful dishes such as diver scallops wrapped in crispy bacon, a good Caesar salad, and perfectly seared rare ahi tuna. However, the tuna could have benefited from a more flavorful Asian sauce and perhaps additional components on the large plate. The wine list was impressive, offering a variety of affordable yet decent options. That said, I wasn’t thrilled about our Meritage being served slightly warm after coming from a 55-degree cooler. Nevertheless, Stephanie, who heads the house, was fantastic and engaging during our discussion about optimal wine temperatures. Overall, this restaurant is a wonderful addition to the local dining scene.
The country club has undergone a wonderful transformation in many aspects. It boasts an exceptional new chef, a thoughtfully curated and reasonably priced wine list, and a fine dining atmosphere enhanced by impressive artful service pieces. The enthusiastic staff truly seems to take pride in their work environment, providing service that matches the quality of the experience. An important note for wine enthusiasts: the red wine is served and stored at the correct temperature. This dining experience reflects the expertise of someone who truly understands what contributes to a memorable meal.
