What ray lindsey doesn't like about The Von:
Stopped by for lunch. The restaurant is visually appealing and their daily menu looked interesting but they are not ready for prime time. Service is fine but meal prep was very slow. Not what I expected at lunch time. Fried collard greens served with meatloaf were crispy and looked good but were very much over salted. The plated meal had excess grease in the plate. The glazed pork chop was fantastic, and the mac and cheese was great! The salad was also delicious! My husband had the chicken sandwich, and it was not impressive at all.
We discovered this fantastic restaurant last weekend. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The chef personally visited each table to ensure that everyone was enjoying their meals. I ordered the glazed pork chop, which was tender and full of flavor! My wife chose the stuffed chicken and said it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant located in downtown Booneville, MS.
I ordered the pork chop meal for myself and macaroni for my son. Both dishes were served quickly and were delicious. We also enjoyed some desserts, which were excellent. The service was great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I like the food! atmosphere is wonderful and the staff was friendly!
The pulled pork hot tamale was somewht bland and could not be cut with a fork as the masa coating was left on the grill too long. The bottom was virtually inedible as the masa was scorched and stiff. If other customers have had similar experiences there then it would explain the lack of business during what would normally be the lunch rush. I hope they can overcome these deficiencies so they can live up to their potential.
