Rio Rico is from 1. June 2008 under new ownership/management and the change will feel immediately as soon as you go through the door. Friendly smiling faces and attentive service – a welcome change.! What User doesn't like about Rio Rico Mexican:
I really enjoy the grilled chicken Tacos at rio rico. prices are decent, there is NIE waiting for place. My only complaint is that they don't always get your order right – sometimes the tacos will come with cabbage (instead of salad) or some kind of white cheese (instead of their usual cheddar).... the tacos taste super, no-the-less. Rio Rico has been under new ownership and management since June 1, 2008, and you'll notice the difference the moment you walk through the door. The friendly, smiling staff and attentive service are a refreshing change! The bar selections have significantly improved, boasting a wider range of tequilas and specialty drinks; the award-winning margaritas are truly phenomenal! While the menu remains largely the same for now, expect some updates soon under owner Jackie Pierson. On Friday and Saturday evenings, they serve handmade tortillas, which are a delightful treat!
I really love the grilled chicken tacos at Rio Rico. The prices are reasonable, and there's hardly ever a wait for a table. My only issue is that they don't always get my order correct—sometimes the tacos come with cabbage instead of lettuce or a different type of white cheese instead of their usual cheddar. However, the tacos taste amazing regardless!
Fantastic location and appealing layout. But how's the food? Unfortunately, it's dry, lacking variety, and flavorless. North County San Diego is packed with countless Mexican restaurants, so it’s surprising that the one with the prime location and lively atmosphere offers such underwhelming food. Rio Rico resembles a Laguna Beach nightclub: you walk in at ground level, ascend the stairs for a lively experience, but what you find falls short of expectations.
I love rio rico for his ambience and friendly staff. The food is also delicious! This is the perfect short-stay restaurant right in our backyards!
