hier isst man quer Beet auf hohem Niveau. Hatte " Wiener Schnitzel" natürlich vom Kalb, sehr gut. Dazu Veltliner Wein. Aber die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich und eigentlich ist für jeden etwas dabei View all feedback.

We found this restaurant in trip advisor but unfortunately was denied in a very cordial manner our entry into the restaurant stating no place for two, with several small empty tables, then assigning a table to a German couple who arrived after us without reservation. It is very sad that this is happening in this century... View all feedback.

We met Doris and Alex here for lunch before setting out for Konigswinter. The dining room was cozy and very old German. Our lunches were very good, I had salmon, sliced thinly and uncooked. It was accompanied by roasted potatoes and dill spinach. Even for someone who is not a salmon fan, I enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the view of the Rhein River and the grounds added to the experience.
Went there for an evening in winter (you have to reserve a table as it's normally all booked). It's the right place if you are looking for traditional German/Austrian food served in a tradional atmosphere with attentive and very friendly staff. They have the somewhat posher dining area where you can meet with family. Although there had been quite a few guests we were served at once and received our meal steak fish resp. in a very short time. In summer this is a beautiful meeting place, out on the terrace, overlooking the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains), Königswinter and the Rhine.

Went to try traditional German restaurant overlooking the Rhine with high expectations after readings reviews. The waitress practically rolled her eyes when we asked for help with understanding the menu but did bring an English version. The meals being served elsewhere looked nice and my husband ordered vegetables with butter sauce for €15. It was literally a plate of boiled broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and potatoes with a sauce poured over. I had chicken in breadcrumbs and that was it with potato salad. Very unimaginative in a time when there is such variety of foods. When asked what we thought I told the waitress we weren't impressed with a plate of boiled veg for €15 she just cleared the table and made no comment!! On the plus side the setting is beautiful and the other staff were very nice
