Was Tom Salisbury at Hickory -b-que a mag?
I had a good experience at this BBQ restaurant. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I ordered a small carryout. The chopped beef was a bit mushy, the coleslaw was standard, but the potato salad was creamy and delicious. The pinto beans were good but a little bland. The BBQ sauce was just right—not too spicy, sweet, or peppery; it had a nice balance. I also tried the peach cobbler, which had just com... View all feedback.
What Boomya Shockya dislikes about Hickory -b-que:
I really like the interior of the restaurant. However, I wasn't impressed with the chopped beef—it was already diced and served in a pot with BBQ sauce, which I don't think is the best way to present it. On the bright side, the pinto beans and green beans I chose as sides were quite good. The sausage had a delicious, smoky flavor. Unfortunately, the turkey lacked taste and smokiness. Best BBQ in Texas! Old fashion in the best way. Amazing service and food! Very recommended!!!
My whole family ate at the hickory BBQ on that day I don't remember what day it was out of hand, we all had chopped beef sandwiches and they were excellent we also had the chocolate cake and it was good as usual light and moist. Also for dessert some of us had Cherry-Crunch, it was all so good the only problem that it was too much ground cream or whatever that topping was. Apart from that, everything else was great, including the staff. I definitely recommend this restaurant for big grill, good desserts and fine food.
On site and family operated with years of experience. Beautiful smoked meat and several pages to choose from. You have at least 2 desserts available daily. You have a great rustic atmosphere and a friendly service.

It wasn't overly sweet, but the cobbler itself had a doughy texture. For $30, my wife and I left feeling full. While I can’t rave about any particular dish, I’ll definitely come back—just not for the cobbler.
