We stopped at this restaurant on our way back to Denver. Our expectations were low given this is the only indian restaurant in Pueblo and we reached at a very odd time (4pm). We were impressed to say the least. All Appetizers, main courses and drinks were amazing and the chef agreed to cook us a delicious flavourful vegetable biriyani though it is not in the regular menu. Absolutely recommend this for everyone travel... View all feedback.
What Douglas Chavez doesn't like about Mr. Tandoori Urban And Grill:
Walked in to eat dinner. No one was at the front to seat us. Walked to the bar and was asked if I was there for a door dash order. We were finally seated. The waitress was rude and seemed to be impatient. I asked the waitress if the cook could make Dal Goush. The waitress rudely pointed at the menu and said order from the menu. We left without trying anything. View all feedback.
Super sad to say that Mr. Tandoori’s is not what it once was. The original owner’s recipes were top notch and much different than they are now. The dishes lack Indian spices which give it that great punch of flavor. The chicken tikka masala was our whole family’s favorite at one time and while the spice is there the flavor is not, it mainly tastes like tomato sauce and is very runny. The saag used to be my favorite, the lamb and paneer are still delicious but again the sauce was runny and lacked flavor. This makes me so sad, Mr. Tandoori’s was one of my favorite places that offered something different in Pueblo. Unfortunately the change of ownership really affected the value by raising prices even more and the taste of the food at this restaurant. We have dined in and done take out a few times hoping it would improve and it hasn’t. :
Amazing friendly staff. Delicious food with large portions.
Amazing lunch- had the saag paneer which was delicious. The service was great and the owner was so welcoming and kind. I am just passing through for work but will return next time I’m in town!
Very accommodating to vegan and gluten free diets, and very friendly about these inquiries. Also, the food tastes good!
Greatly disappointed on the take out, let me explain. First the overall quantity of the main dish and rice was truly in short supply. The focus on Indian food is the spice, but with that I would like enough to be able to enjoy the spices felt like I was taken advantage of. Secondly, speaking of the spices I would like to actually be thinking that I’m eating Indian food. The texture was there, but the amount of spice in the disk was also in short supply.Within the last month I have eaten in person and the experience was good. Nevertheless, from my take out experience AVOID and seek the in restaurant approach. This way the quantity and quality of the food may be acceptable or at least you have a wait staff who could be an advocate. Never again on take out, you have been warned.
