Unfortunately we were set on Bad Hombres, which has just closed down. Fonda is just around the corner from where Bad Hombres Bondi used to be, so we gave it a try. We had just recently visited Vandal in Newtown, so perhaps our expectations were too high! The food wasn't bad, but my partner didn't like the vegan cheese at all (after having being spoiled at Vandal), and we wouldn't visit again. It's a good option if you're in the area and really set on Mexican.
Very clear menu with clear vegan options and actually lots of choice! I had the sweet potato quesadillas and they were amazing!! Staff were very accommodating and offered either without cheese or with vegan cheese, also had the option for gluten free tortillas. Also great margaritas!
Such a cute venue with yummy Mexican food. A little in the pricey side. Their hot sauces are great.
This restaurant serves delicious Mexican food and has a nice atmosphere. It is a bit pricey, but their hot sauces are fantastic.
We were disappointed to find out that Bad Hombres had closed, so we decided to try Fonda, which is located near where Bad Hombres used to be. We had recently dined at Vandal in Newtown, so our expectations may have been too high. The food at Fonda was decent, but my partner wasn't a fan of the vegan cheese (especially after enjoying the food at Vandal). Overall, we probably wouldn't return. However, if you're in the area and craving Mexican food, Fonda could be a good option for you.
