The waiter who I think was the manager was nice enough to start with but then he became aloof with an air of arrogance about him. We asked for the wine menu which he completely ignored. The setting is ruined by the constant noise of traffic and fumes. Starters were nice enough. My main duck dish) was average. Duck quite dry and overcooked. The wild rice on the side was bland and just weird. Husbands risotto dish much... View all feedback.
Excellent food and service! Especially we liked tartare, it was just perfect! Very nice stuff and beautiful summer terrace. Definitely worth visitin! Two days later I discovered that I forgot my sweatshirt there. The manager was very nice and offered me to send it by the post. It was so nice of them, appreciate their approach so much!
I visited Bolzano for a long weekend and decided to eat at Loewengrube, both due to the great reviews and its proximity to my hotel. I was blown away. The chef pleasingly combines Italian finesse and flavor with the local more Germanic influence. This is not the kind of fine dining experience where you risk walking away hungry. As a single diner, I found the staff to be very friendly, and they checked on me often without being overbearing. The food was just incredible. I have been thinking about the lamb cannelloni ever since. I had every course, each paired with wine, plus a glass of bubbly to start and a digestif and coffee to end. All told, it was about 90 euros. Very reasonable for the quality, portions, and service. You could get out for much less if you had a simpler meal, and you'd still be satisfied. I liked it so much that I booked a table for the next night on the spot, and I don't regret that either!
Delicious food, attentive service, but not enough options for vegetarians. I don’t want to eat the same dish every time I go there.
