We were in the area after buying a car. We stopped on our way home for food and found this using trip advisor. This restaurant is a gem. Staff are lovely. Good choice on the menu. Food was delicious and they did my favourite mango chicken as I don't like spicy food. Would highly recommend this place. View all feedback.
What Cedric S doesn't like about Sagar:
I visit this restaurant rather frequently for takeaway and also dining in the restaurant. Tonight was a disgrace. In fact, it’s been a disgrace since Alok passed away. There are staff who simply cannot communicate in English, young staff messing about. It’s fallen so far below the standards of what Alok expected. Shameful. Tonight, it took 90mins for a takeaway. 90mins, despite being told it would be 30mins. The rest... View all feedback.
Really enjoyed our evening here. Excellent Restaurant, excellent service First Class Meal. Couldn’t fault our experience one of the best Indian Restaurants we have eaten at
Not visited for a while however we were not disappointed! Our table was ready on time and the greeting by staff was as we had expected, brilliant. The menu is great with all types catered for and when our food arrived it was delicious. Staff are professional throughout and the food is absolutely value for money. A visit is highly recommended but book your table, it’s a popular restaurant.
Have come here many times before. Food was 10/10 tonight. Very good sized portions as well and delicious. Will recommend
We have been to this restaurant before and it was lovely but we had an awful experience last night. Although the restaurant wasn't full and it was a normal weekend i.e. not a bank holiday, mother's day etc. The service was chaotic with waiters running in the restaurant and the manager shouting as if the kitchen was on fire. They didn't seem to have a clue. We heard the couple sat near us complaining about their food and the waiter just shrugged his shoulders. It was incredibly noisy, there was no music and it was not relaxing. We had our food bagged up and we left. But, not before we noticed we had been charged for drinks we hadn't had. My husband doesn't drink and I had only had one drink so £25 was ridiculous and I can't believe they thought they would get away with it. It's like stealing and totally unfair during the current economic crisis when we are doin our best to support local businesses. As for the food, the poppadoms were very small, the starter was inedible and the main course was ok. The wine was very overpriced but we liked the wine glasses. We will not return and we would not recommend. I rarely leave such low reviews but this restaurant spoiledile what should have been a lovely celebration for us. Sorry.
Mixed starter was overcooked, bland and dry.. each item came at different temperatures and was served almost immediately indicating microwave reheat. My chicken was definitely dead and had tried to be resuscitated a few times! Dry and inedible. I did complain and the chap said he was new and didn't know what to do? He returned with another waiter who offered to replace it with chicken tikka....I didn't want chicken tikka, I wanted chicken and the shared rice was almost cold at this point. The lamb in my friends meal was tender in places but tough in others... the peshwari naan was lovely light and tasty though. I was so looking forward to it but it was disappointing at best and I wouldn't recommend or return :
