This place is exceptional. The ambience is fantastic and the staff could not be more beautiful or more professional. This is undoubtedly a jewel in the north. Very recommended for a special evening or a special occasion. View all feedback.
What Gretchen Koch doesn't like about Club Grill Steakhouse:
Ordnete the Ribeye medium rare and NY strip medium; they came from medium well and well done. The server did not return to the table for 30 minutes. When they said that the steaks were overcooked, we were chased by the waitress and said that we came and check 5 minutes later to make sure they are boiled to your taste, which of course they did not. Honestly, having charged the full price (300, no visit from the manage... View all feedback.
Service was awful. Upon being seated, we were given water and offered lemons. 2 of the 4 of us requested lemons, we never received them. We ordered a Caesar salad, cowboy steak, truffle steak fries, and spinach. Before we even got the salad, the waitress tried to sell us on their bacon and kept pushing additional glasses of wine even when we said we would let her know. When the steak was being served, the waiter said, “only one steak?” My son doesn’t eat steak and it was plenty for the rest of us. Who is he to judge?!? The spinach was inedible and the steak fries had no truffle at all. We informed the staff on our reservation and upon sitting that we were celebrating a birthday. They brought dessert, did not include a candle and ignored the birthday celebration request. The chocolate mousse dessert, was not mousse, more like a ball of cold fudge. I am sad and disappointed in this experience. All of The Sagamore restaurants are 5 star and this was not. After all of this, both my husband and I were sick all night and the following day.
Despite what we had read, this place was fantastic. Food, service and atmosphere were so nice. Staff was so helpful, timely, took time to take us outside for a photo and surrounds are beautiful)
While I had requested fresh anchovies on my Caesar salad, only mine received them, and the two small pieces of filet were barely noticeable on my palate. Although the food was well presented, it took too long to arrive after we finished our salads. I’m not sensitive to sodium, but I found the scampi sauce on the scallops to be overly salty for my taste. Moreover, there were butter plates and knives on the table that remained unused throughout our meal. Bread was never offered or served. Perhaps our $172 bill (before tip) didn’t qualify us for complimentary bread, but we didn't ask for it as we likely wouldn’t have eaten much anyway. Our two-person table was wobbly, and we reported this to the hostess. Issues like a shaky table indicate that the restaurant could benefit from better oversight. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
One of my favorite fine dining places around. Sea Bass is possibly best I've had. Scallops over black rice is sooo good. Never had black rice but it is really good. Piper in the bar is top notch. Wish they stayed open all winter.
Amazing food, and quaint, traditional steakhouse atmosphere.
