This modern restaurant has a very nice atmosphere by using romantic light, nice furn... read more During our 5 days stay, we have had 3 dinners in this excellent restaurant. This modern restaurant has a very nice atmosphere by using romantic light, nice furniture and good music. The staf is friendly and capabel. But the most important thing is of course the food! Delicious! The chef (who has learned the secrets of fine cooking at Michelin star restaurants) serves Spanish dishes with his own twist. Good recommandation of the staf about the Spanish wines. In one word: fantastic!

Welook around and found restaurant Ara.the place is very nice,good service and very good food.

Ara is the pick of Boltana without a doubt. It 's hidden, away from the town and 'at a camping ground ' which might not bode well initially. But the atmosphere... read more Ara is the pick of Boltana without a doubt. It 's hidden, away from the town and 'at a camping ground ' which might not bode well initially. But the atmosphere is great, the service excellent, and the food superb. We were staying at the nearby 5-star Barcelo Monasterio hotel and (while the hotel is great) the food at their restaurant doesn 't come close to Ara 's. We found Ara through Trip Advisor and luck, walking there from the hotel in the afternoon just for a look. We were back for dinner in the evening; and again later in our stay. If you 're staying at the Monasterio or elsewhere in Boltana do yourself a favour and check Ara out. This may sound a little gushing, but we loved it. Best dinner experience in rural/mountain Spain so far.

Apparently a change in ownership has turned an innovative kitchen into an overpriced snack bar. Fortunately there are many good and better choices in the surrounding area.
