After we had set ourselves, the service was very slow and bad. had a pasta dish that was average. I doubt that I will eat again in this restaurant.
The carbonara was a disappointment. very yellow, pasty and super heavy. could not end more than 1/4 of pasta. my man had the lasagne and it was okay. the waitress brought our job wrong twice. it was also warm with poor ac. not recommended.
We had recommended this small food market with several stands that served a wide range of food from fish burgers amazing salads to freshly produced pasta. it was hard to choose between them. I had the freshly made pasta that was incredible.
The Mercato di Mezzo is located in the Old Market district of Bologna and consists of a series of stalls featuring cured meats, bakery goods, cheeses, salads, and other types of antipasti. There are lots of things to buy, and you can take them to...a nearby table to eat in, or carry them away for later. I tried some wine, assorted cheeses and salami, prosciutto, and sopressata...and very good olives. The place is busy, very busy...and full of the sights and sounds of the market outside the doors. I loved this slice of Bologna life.
On a month-long stay in and around Bologna, the Mercato solved the great dilemma of what to eat that's not pasta. And how to have good food without committing to a restaurant sit-down. Buy a drink, then step over and choose from different kitchens serving...fish, meat, vegetables, and, of course, pasta. The fried calamari, and the potato and octopus salad was delicious. Excellent for solo diners.
