Was Syawalianto at Bass'8 a mag?
I just arrived in Bologna, it was around 6.30 pm (Sunday) and I was super hungry. No restaurant were open until 7 pm, so I was a bit frustrated. Luckily this place opens earlier than most of other places. Then I went in and ordered a vegetarian plate. It was simply grilled vegetables with bread. But, it was lovely! Really tasty and perhaps I had the most delicious focaccia I have ever tasted. The place looks modern b... View all feedback.

What Tazio Ferretti dislikes about Bass'8:
you should definitely choose the complete menu, if you take only a first or a second and contour costs almost more. some dishes perhaps are prepared with little care and a little rush View all feedback.

An institution in bologna and one of the restaurants with best value for money in the city center.

It's a nice selfie service. large space, good food, kind staff. I found myself well and we spent little time. I'll be back. recommended.

What a nice little find. This is purportedly a self-service restaurant, but given we were one of only two tables in on a quiet evening, our waitress gave us table service and recommendations on what to eat. The menu is quite limited and features some non-Italian dishes, which loses points in my book, but what they do do they do very well. Take their spinach and potato gnocchi as an example, which was served in a parmesan fondue with balsamic vinegar. This was one of the most beautiful things I've tried. My other half ordered better than me in this case, although she did say it was quite filling so it could be taken as a main course on its own. I took tortellini in ragu, which was the nicest I had in Bologna. After our meal our waitress brought us complimentary cake and two small shots of nice liquor, which I've never known to happen in Italy. A solid 4.5 stars.
