Western Proper - Boise

We had a reservation for the dining room, but were sitting in the bar area at a very small table. service was very slow and our waitress was rude. the early rolls were ok, my man had the sticky rice that was so, I had the chalk salad that was missing taste and had very little chalk. it was very loud and not worth the price.

The food had no seasoning. It was bland. And for the price, I was expecting something tasty and enjoyable. The service was nice. Friendly waitress. Just truly disappointed with the flavorless food.

They took our reservation and when we arrived they were closed. No messages no attempt to inform us. Our first time in Boise and western proper Bertie my did not leave a good impression.

I made reservations for New Years Day for a friend’s birthday. When we arrived, the doors were locked and were informed by a passerby that they were closed due to a NYE event they had the previous night. Obviously, they knew they were going to be closed, which should have been stated on their website, so reservations could not be made. We were not informed until we went down there to fulfill our reservation. There was another couple at the door that had also made reservations. I just think it was very poor decorum to accept a reservation when they knew they would be closed on New Years Day.

Visited Western Proper for their new years eve party and couldn't have been happier! The service, the food, the drinks, atmosphere, music and dancefloor.. everything! It was a classy yet laid back and fun evening looking forward to visiting again :
