**Discovering Ethiopian Cuisine: A Taste Sensation** This Ethiopian restaurant delights patrons with its flavorful dishes and inviting atmosphere. The veggie and gluten-free combo options showcase an array of colorful and aromatic offerings, perfect for sampling. Signature dishes like tikel gomen, doro wat, and tantalizing lamb preparations stand out, appealing to both veggie lovers and meat enthusiasts alike. The use of injera creates a unique tactile dining experience, while the fresh salads complement the meals beautifully. With welcoming staff and a clean, charming setting adorned with captivating decor, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone eager to explore the vibrant flavors of East African cuisine.
Very tasty. I recommend the combo plate with 3 or 4 options. The yellow lentils were my favorite. Super fun to eat with your hands. The decor is a bit outdated and the service is just average.
My first time there. Very impressed with the presentation. The staff are wonderfully welcoming. The food is fantastic. It's not fancy but clean and homespun. Our dish came with a bread thingy that covered the large plate upon which the entire servingentree was placed. One takes the bread thingy and eats it with your hand. You can take the entree and wrap in the bread thingylike a taco. Very interesting eating experience. I highly recommend this place for the food. It is different. But I believeyou'll like it. I witnessed lots of customers there enjoying the place.
I ordered a side of rice that was delicately spiced and paired wonderfully with the main dishes. For my meal, I chose a mix of veggie and meat dishes—six items in total. Although Tikel Gomen was my least favorite, it was still enjoyable. Selsi was quite pleasing and not as spicy as I expected. Foselia was fantastic; the textures were excellent. I absolutely loved the Dero Wat, especially since it was served on the bone and incredibly tender. The Red Tibs Lamb had larger chunks and a delightful flavor. However, my favorite dish was definitely the Zilzil Wot! I opted for the gluten-free Injera, which I appreciated for its texture and tanginess. The salad, though simple, was executed perfectly—fresh and vibrant—and it held up well during the 30-minute drive home. My only complaint was that the samosas were slightly overcooked. They were jostled around during delivery, but I don’t hold that against the restaurant. Overall, it was an amazing experience!
My first time visiting and the food and owner were absolutely wonderful! I appreciate that there is a spicy and not spicy menu as well as many vegetarian options. So flavorful and will definitely be back! Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
First time there. I have wanted to go here for years. Come with patience and not be in a hurry. The food was good and what I expected. I had eaten Ethiopian food years ago in Seattle, WA, and had wanted to find a restaurant serving the same thing here. Now patience comes into play with how long it took to be noticed that we had entered the restaurant and seated ourselves. The person who brought our menus seemed to be detached from her reason for being there as she was not friendly and was slow to move around the tables of other diners. I went to the counter to ask for menus from an older woman who interacted with the cook. She brought them to us and was patient with our questions about certain dishes. The food came to us shortly and was good. When our bill came, there was no clarity that we needed to pay at the counter. We waited a bit and watched other diners get up and go stand in line to pay. We did the same. The dining area people are not friendly or attentive, sad to say. I will go back there for the food, and knowing what to expect, I will immediately ask for menus and know to get their attention sooner when ordering the food.
