We enjoyed another lovely evening with friends from Gettysburg. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic, as usual. 3 of us had bowls and 1 had the lamb. All were very good. Wine and cocktails were also very good. This time we visited on a late Sunday afternoon because of the 6:00pm closing so it was not very busy and too hot to enjoy eating on the porch. It's always nice to introduce new folks to The Barn Allenberry and... View all feedback.
What Scott Lawrence doesn't like about The Barn Restaurant At Allenberry:
Didn't like the deviled eggs. It was liquid not creamy and fluffy. Never seen a deviled egg done that way. Filet was thin it was not bad but i don't think it was worth $40. 25-30 yes View all feedback.
I had the Filet Medallions, they were cooked correctly and the mashed potatoes that came with them were delightful. Their menu is also labeled with the dietary restrictions, which is so helpful. We went to a tequila event. The presentation was great. Both food food and drinks were excellent. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
4th time back, first time getting the Ramen. Was not Ramen, was not edible. Don't know if they over reduced their stock or what. Close friend got the lettuce wraps, all I can say is get Americana Don't get anything else Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Food and drink prices are a little on the high side but food is excellent. Great selection of food. Menu has some items labeled Gluten free and when questioned the waiter had to ask the kitchen who said an item was gluten free. When the dish came out it clearly was not Gluten free. They replaced the order with something that was 100% gluten free. Service: Dine in
The Barn is a beautiful restaurant with a nice bar and live music sometimes. We came last year and there was a different head chef who we think was much better. The Brussel sprouts and the three onion soup were amazing during this visit to be fair. The Cesar salad was as dry as a desert. Others felt the crab cakes were just okay. I think we are just let down because the food and service seemed a lot better last year. Maybe we ate on an off night.
