This place is simply delicious!!! I have been to many fancy and well known restaurants and this is my favorite of them all. Not pretentious at all, just great food at a great price with a great service!!! I have gone there quite a few times and very dish I have tried is deliciously prepapred!
I was invited to this restaurant by a friend, they explained that it offers genuine colbia my meals. I tried the infamous Ajiaco, it was very delicious, the atmosphere of the restaurant was authentic and had a popular feel. I would however be careful with the size :) unless you are very hungry just go for the medium sized meal.I am definitely looking forward to go again and try another dish.
While I was in Bogotá on business, my customer recommended that we go here for lunch one day. He wanted me to have an authentic plate of Bandeja Paisa, so that's what I ordered. But first of all, don't let the graffiti on the outside scare you away. Bogotá, like many Latin American cities, is plagued by graffiti--even the safe neighborhoods. This is no exception. I was very comfortable walking the several blocks to get here and back, and we encountered nothing but busy people bustling along the sidewalks. We arrived a few minutes after 12:00 and the restaurant was nearly empty. But by 12:30, the place was packed, so be sure to get there right at noon or you may not find a seat. And also, when the place is full, it's hard to walk to the door because the tables are so close together. The Bandeja Paisa was delicious. I also ordered a strawberry milk to drink with it. This isn't like Nestle's Strawberry Quik--this is fresh strawberries blended with milk. Both the meal and the drink were new experiences for me. Since I'm not sure if or when I will be returning to Bogotá, I am trying to replicate these here at home. But if I do return to Bogotá, I will certainly try to make my way back to Las Cazuelas de la Abuela.
