Some Colombian friends brought me to lunch after visiting the Museo de Oro. (I don't know if they serve dinner, but I don't think the Museo de Oro neighborhood is the safest area at night anyway. The restaurant consists of three... or four rooms that were packed. There were students, but also many shop owners and businessmen and women. (I don't think the businessmen/women were there with customers, but were eaten there because the food reminded them of their mothers cooking. The decor is plan, but the food was solid Colombian food, with large portions at an expensive price. I had the Sancocho chicken soup and one side of rice and beans. My friends had Pescado Frito (whole roast red snapper and a chorizo rice dish with beans and eggs. The meal included the typical avocados, limes, arepas, et cetera. The food was very good, but we couldn't finish everything. Includes drinks, the invoice total $25 US dollars for the three of us. I definitely go back when I'm in Bogota. The restaurant is located on Septima, a pedestrian area near the Muso de Oro. The restaurant is not easy to find. It is located on the second floor of a covered market with manufacturer stands selling everything from purses, shoes and all other goods. The restaurant will be directly on the left by a staircase when you enter the covered market.
