First of all I would like to explain that I am from The Netherlands, which means that English is not my native language. In advance I would like to apologies for any language and spelling errors in my review. I choose to write my reviews in English so many people can read or translate them.If you are looking for information about Bodenmais or you stay in Bodenmais or in the area of Bodenmais you wil absolutely will see the name of this restaurant everywhere you look. So did I. I am very sensitive for good marketing so I had to visit this restaurant for sure and I did on my first day in Bodenmais……This restaurant is located in the center of Bodenmais on the main road and the marketing of this place is good but the quality of the food was disappointed.The way that the food was presented was poor. I had a cordon blue with baked potatoes. This Cordon Blue tasted and looked like a frozen Cordon Blue from a supermarket who was fried. The baked potatoes had also a skin like it was fried (fried like Pommes Frites). The whole dish looks like a cheap tourist meal.My partner had a Hühner (Chicken) fricassee. This was a kind of cheap thick chicken soup on a plate with rice. It tasted cheap, plane and looks also not very tasteful. Our neighbor, tabel next to us, had ordered a Haxe. The Haxe that was served on his table was very dry.Because of all the publicity around this restaurant you get the idea that this is the place that gives you a good view and taste about the food in this area. However they don’t. Don’t be disappointed there are enough other good restaurants in the same area that delivers better food and offers more local food than Franzl’ s Grill- & winestube.

I had a cordon blue with baked carrots. this cordon blue tasted and looked like a frozen cordon blue from a super market that was fried. the baked kartoffels had also a skin as it was fried (fried like pommes frites.) the whole dish looks like a cheap tourist meal. my partner had a chicken (chicken) fricassee. that was a kind of cheap thick chicken soup on a plate with rice. it tasted cheap, airplane and also does not look very tasteful. our neighbour, table beside us, had ordered a haxe. the haxe, which was served on his table, was very dry. because of all the publicity around this restaurant they get the idea that this is the place that gives them a good look and taste over eating in this opposite. but they don't. don’t let them be disappointed, there are enough other good restaurants in the same opposite, which provides better food and more local food than Franzl’s Grill wine bar.
