The gastronomy around the Starlight Express is somewhat thinly populated, but as we were in the area late afternoon, we tried to get a place without reservation. Since my girls love Italian cuisine, we tried it in the “Ristorante Carmelo”, a few hundred meters away from the musical theatre. When we arrived, almost the entire guest room was empty, but one looked at us with great eyes as we wanted a place without reservation. Everything seemed to be reserved. After explaining to the boss that we don't want to settle in the house, but just want a dinner and then want to go on. Shortly superior, then for us four found a solution quite fast, and we were assigned a table in the bright and friendly Mediterranean guest room. Now the roles were changed, and instead of the boss we were served by one of the many friendly Italian gentlemen present. The rich menu was quickly at the table, and our drinks were also quickly selected. So our two girls chose a large and small Coca Cola for 2,20 € or Wine choir for 4,50 € My wife wished a wine choir for 4,50 € and I chose a 0.3ér castle Alt for 3,00 €. 0.3ér Castles Alt for 3,00 € These were in place after a few minutes and so we could also place our order for the dishes. My girls once chose the Gnocchi Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce for €11.50, once the Tagliatelle Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce for €9.50, as well as the spaghetti Matriciana with ham in spicy tomato sauce for €9.50. I chose the pizza turkey breast with fresh champions and turkey breast for 9,50 €. As a small pasture to the main dish there was a small greeting from the kitchen with four Bruschetta. This little appetizer let us wait for the main dishes. Our dishes came to the table 20 minutes after order. Gnocchi Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce for 11,50 € The Gnocchi Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce were a plentiful, deep plate full of edible Gnocchi ́s, with plenty of gogonzola cheese and cream sauce. The Gorgonzola tasted very clearly and heartily here. Tagliatelle Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce for 9,50 € Also the Tagliatelle Gorgonzola with original Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce were in no way after the Gnocchi ́s. Here the Tagliatelle were pleasantly softly cooked, the Gorgonzola and the cream sauce rounded off the food. Spaghetti Matriciana with ham in spicy tomato sauce for 9,50 € Spaghetti Matriciana with ham in spicy tomato sauce again amazed us. Were the Tagliatelle and the Gnocchi ́s almost drowned in sauce, they were already looking for it. But the bit of sauce, which was called piquant tomato sauce, had it in itself. After half the plate, our big child, who likes to be sharp, had a clearly red head and sweated. The tomato sauce had a slightly hidden sharpness, the amount made it. Holla... All three noodle dishes were of course more than sufficient, my girls even dispensed with dessert. Pizza turkey breast with fresh champions and turkey breast for 9,50 € My pizza turkey breast with fresh champions and turkey breast was unspectacular. I expect a pizza from the Italian. Thin, crispy ground, with plenty of fresh turkey breast as well as champions, plus a thick layer of cheese. The whole slightly brown in the oven, what you want more. So strengthened, we were able to leave the restaurant after almost 45 minutes, and were able to digest a little while walking to Starlight Theater. In summer you can sleep in a large, partly covered beer garden. Parking is plentiful at the house, or in front of the street. The guest room as well as the sanitary locations were clean picobello. A fucking restaurant. Conclusion: a typical Italian. A beautiful restaurant, friendly service, delicious food. I'm glad to see you again when we're in Bochum.
