The service at this restaurant is incredibly fast, the food is delicious, and it is situated at Lock 32 on the Trent Canal. The view of boats and wildlife is breathtaking. The location is easily accessible and the facilities are extremely clean. View all feedback.
What Yasmin Waelchi doesn't like about Water's Edge Restaurant:
Travelled by boat from cottage with reservation for 7. Unfortunately my 27 year old daughter had no purse, no pockets and no i.d Ruined a nicely planned celebration. Went into Town and enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks at Donatello's and surprisingly an AGCO inspector was nowhere to be found. Carding 30 should be expressed when making reservations. Person in charge saying "I could lose my house" was a little extreme.... View all feedback.
We were greeted with the question, "Under what name?" when we arrived at the nearly empty restaurant.
Four of us had dinner at Water's Edge Restaurant and we all enjoyed our meals immensely. The dinner special was fresh Pickerel. It was cooked to perfection. Some had appetizers and dessert as well. No complaints from anyone. Staff is friendly and very attentive. The restaurant is on the Trent Severn Waterway so as you are eating dinner (or lunch,) you have a lovely view of boats coming and going.I would highly recommend this restaurant!
I must eat gluten free for medical reasons - I am used to choosing from only one or two possibilities on any menu, but at Water's Edge at least 75% of menu options were or could be made gluten free! They were also very knowledgeable about what modifications would need to be made, and when my pork tenderloin arrived, everything was delicious! Atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend. (But reserve early, as they are so good they fill up quickly!)
My husband and I went to the Water's Edge restaurant for dinner. The food was AMAZING! I had the pickerel which came with a very nice rice pilaf. My husband enjoyed the lamb shank. The waitress was very pleasant. The owner had the baby ducklings scrambling to her. It was very cute, but I wish she didn't feed them bread. Perhaps she could give them some seed. Her intentions were good, but I have heard that bread is not a good food for ducks or any other wild fowl.
Wonderful location right beside the water. Terrific food and service. We are able to take our boat and dock it right beside the restaurant.
