Have stopped here for lunches a few times. Great burgers, good sandwiches and friendly service. Serving staff make you feel very welcomed. Portions are more than adequate....burgers quite Large! Much better selection of food and beers than the Kawartha Coffee Co. Situated across from the locks, with open air dining room. Give Embers a try.....you won't be disappointed. View all feedback.
What Daniel Zlámal doesn't like about Embers Grillhouse:
2 Draft beer and 2 liver ( 1 slice) and onion dinners was $50.00The liver was the size of a piece of baloney and 1/4 " thick. Salad was about 3 mouth fulls. When I spoke to manager a young guy with short hair his response was " eat somewhere else we don't need your business"I wasn't looking for a discount I'd already paid. This place takes advantage of their location and overcharges boaters and tourists because they will never see them again. Walk down the street to a place called 72 Bolton, food much better and beer $1.50 a draft cheaper from 4-7pm.
The staff at Embers are quite young, and customer service is not their strong suit. However, the woman who I believe is the owner was there a couple of times, and she is very good with customers. I think she should train the newer staff to be more like her, which would make the place more impressive. The wait time for food is around 10-15 minutes, which gives you time to do some window shopping around the corner. The prices are a bit high for simple items like burgers and fries - we ordered 3 burger and fries combos, which came to around $50. This is typical for cottage country, where things tend to be more expensive because they can be.
I have visited this restaurant many times over the years but this was my first visit for breakfast. It was a Saturday morning so it was very busy but the waitresses did their best to keep things going and the coffee refills were plenty. Breakfast was cooked just the way I liked it. We will definitely return. Thank you.
The food was excellent and well-priced. When the weather is pleasant, they open up the restaurant so it feels like dining on a covered patio.
I went to this restaurant for dinner on a busy Saturday. The service was just okay and the food was not great. We ordered burgers, fries, and nachos, but they were all very average - it felt like eating food from a grocery store. I would not return to this place, especially since there are many better food options nearby.
Started off by waiting for a table that the hostess told us she was cleaning off. 20mins later she never came back. Once the manager noticed us we where seated but the service was still touch and go. Food was ok, restaurant looked cool. 4/10
