Bluffton Oyster Co

Service was inadequate, especially for this type of establishment and the prices paid. Our family visited on August 5, 2023 while visiting Hilton Head. We placed our party of 6(2 children) on the wait list at 6:45pm and were told there would be about a 30 minute wait, by 7:15 we were still waiting. This would have been fine had a party of 6+ not walked in and were sat immediately. Very little communication from the staff about the waiting and the delay. At 7:30 the hostess said they were waiting on other parties to leave so they could seat us. At this time there were at least 3 open tables, one of which had not been cleaned but had no patrons for at least 10 minutes. We were sat at approximately 7:55pm, again little to no communication was had. At 8:05pm our waitress was asked to come to our table for our drink orders, as she had not been to us yet. When she arrived we were informed they were out of multiple items for the night, which could have been shared prior to us being sat in case we could make it to another restaurant as many of those items were seafood items, which is why we visited this restaurant to begin with. Our drinks took 5+ minutes to be brought to the table. Our one order of hush puppies took 20 minutes to be delivered. We ordered our food at 8:30 upon the arrival of our hush puppies and it took until almost 9:00pm to receive it. My husband and oldest son needed refills but never received them because once our food was delivered, we did not see our waitress or any other staff members at our table. My husband had to go to the cash register to retrieve our ticket in fact. The food was average to slightly above average. We were very disappointed in the service and the lack of communication of this restaurant and are not interested in returning.

Great cooked crabs ?. We asked gor extra claws and they gave us 2 dozen extra claws. We will be back!

We're from Chattanooga, TN and we often go to Hilton Head. We've been to many fresh seafood markets. But this place takes 1st place. Great seafood selection and what made our visit was Chelsea. She made us feel right at home and offered great tips on preparation and how to's. She is the epitome of customer service. We enjoyed the grouper!!!!We will be back!!Alex, Carla, and Becca.

Great place to purchase fresh seafood. I was actually looking for the restaurant in Bluffton. The lady working in the market gave me a brochure, address and driving directions to the restaurant. Much appreciated. The actual address of the restaurant: 27 Mellichamp Drive.

Great place to paddle board,and enjoy the maye river.
