I first dining at this restaurant when I visited UMKC as a high school graduate from St. Louis. My family and I stopped by on our way back to STL, and the food was fantastic! That was back in 2012. Fast forward to last year, and I moved to Blue Springs. It's quite surprising, but now my wife and I are locals, and the food is just as delicious as I remember. Thank you for maintaining your great taste over the years! View all feedback.

Their prices simply do not match the quality. Charging $17 for a combo that includes a sandwich, fries, and a drink? I've had better BBQ from what I would consider fast food, and it's definitely not worth those premium prices. You can go to places like Jack Stack or Smokehouse BBQ and either pay the same or even less for much higher quality BBQ. They seem to be taking advantage of customers with that $17 combo meal.... When I mentioned I was staying in a hotel and needed cutlery, they said they didn’t have any available. I ended up with just my sandwich, beans, and coleslaw. After taking two bites of the sandwich, which was mostly just dry and fatty burnt ends, I nearly choked. The sauce didn’t help at all; it couldn't rescue the meal. As for the service, it was decent. The young man who assisted me was in training and didn’t receive much support. I hope it was just an off night for them, but I certainly won’t be coming back!

Back in May, we had employed Zarda to cater our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. I think there were around 60 people there. The young lady that came set up the catering and was ready for people to go through the line right on time. We had pulled pork, turkey, baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and salad. The young lady that set up the food line was very courteous and professional. Plus the food was good too. I wished I had ordered twice as much cheesy potatoes, there were none left!
The food is amazing. True Kansas City BBQ. Service was fast, the employees are pleasant and accommodating when you search them out. The only issue that I had was having to interrupt personal conversation to get assistance, and I would prefer to order from my table, rather than at the counter.
Up from San Antonio In Kansas City for a Chiefs game. Chiefs won) and I always try to eat at a different BBQ place each time I visit. This time it was Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs just outside Independence. About 2 minutes off I-70 it was easy to find. Got here about 5:45, not crowded at all. Staff was cordial as I came up to order. Went with my go to meal brisket and sausage, dudes of fries and beans. Meal came out after a short wait. First thing I noticed was it already had save on the meat. This prevented me from trying one of the 4 sauces at the table. The next thing I noticed being from Texas) was the sausage. It was sliced thin and round. Almost like a pepperoni on a pizza. Brisket was thinly sliced as well and both meats placed on slices of bread under. Overall the meal was good and tasty. Though I had to settle with what I believe was original sauce already in the meat it was flavorful. Both meats were well cooked. I would definitely recommend Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs, Missouri. Side note: started getting more crowded around 630 as I was leaving. Plus a lot of pickup order heading out the door. Locals know)
