Contribute FeedbackDespite being the only option on a rainy day, this Blue Mountain restaurant failed to impress. The worn and dingy interior, slow service, and unappetizing food left much to be desired. Reviews ranged from finding the place barely passable to downright inedible. One reviewer even suggested keeping the door closed to avoid scaring customers away. The only redeeming quality seemed to be the atmosphere at night when the pub transforms into a lively scene with good beer selection and decent bar food. Overall, visitors to Blue Mountain are advised to explore other dining options before resorting to this disappointing restaurant.
No reception was our first hint of what was to come. No one showed us to a seat so we picked an indoor seat. Waitress threw the menus onto the table then we asked if there was patio seating? Response was "first come first served" instead of "let me check or would you like to wait for a patio table"?We sat for about 10 minutes in a pretty dingy area with no one seeming to care we were even there. At this point we got up to walk out despite this no one even inquired why. PS there were staff and bar personnel around. My recommendation avoid this place!
This is a typical Irish pub. Good selection of beers and decent bar food. At night, it is a good scene. Lots of people. Everyone having a good time. Usually, there is a band playing at the bar. If you want to go out on a Saturday night to have a few pints (or more) with friends, I would check out a few bars in the village first, but once you hit MJ, you will stay. I would recommend it.
Food just ok, dirty place, almost killed myself on the greasy floor, staff was in panic mode when not that busy, disorganized. They would do well to keep the door closed on this place so as to not scare the customers. Bathrooms uggggg..... stay away save your money to dine somewhere else. Just because its in blue mountain does not make it good.
Traveling with a family of 5 we chose MJs as their prices online seemed reasonable compared to some others in the village. When we got there, everything was about $2 more than online. We chose to sit inside as there wasnt much space left for 5 on the patio. After one table left we seemed to be the only table inside and had to wait almost 10 min for a waitress. They're busy outside..ok, I get it. But an apology for the wait would be nice. We killed time by trying to kill the 3 flies bothering our table. Menu looked decent. 4 out 5 of us ordered French onion soup to start. It came out about 15 min later which is fine but they weren't very hot which is odd for this style soup as its heated in the oven. Taste was good and lots of cheese. Then within 2 minutes of eating it, the waitress said the soups took longer than anticipated so the mains are ready now and asked if she could bring them out. We said no as we didn't want our mains to get cold as we ate our soup. Once ready for the mains, they came out and 2 of them had to be sent back. The onion rings were refried *I think* to make them hot again after sitting there waiting for us. They were so over done the onion was obliterated inside. The chicken wings, underdone inside. Fish was good, but not great. Fries pretty decent actually. Beef dip was just good. The new order of onion rings brought back we're much better. Now almost worth the $10 We were paying for them...almost. Oh, did I mention we asked for a pitcher of beer and they don't do pitchers...what pub doesn't do pitchers? All but 1 person switched to soda after hearing this. When our meal was half done we were asked how our drinks were and 2 of us asked for refills. Not knowing until the bill arrived they were NOT free refills. A little absurd these days and especially not being told when ordering. Last disappointment was the washrooms. The ladies specifically. The soap dispenser was nonexistant. There was a refill soap dispensor bag sitting in the sink you had to move out of the way if you wanted to run the water and wash your hands. The air dryer felt like someone breathing hot breath on your hands. I decided to wipe my hands on my pants to dry them and get out of there. We were all in agreement we were sad to waste a meal out during our trip here. Will not visit again
Went there for dinner on a busy weekend and this place was pretty disorganized. The hostess is all over the place and not taking names or seating people. Food was OK, but as stated in another review, this place is pretty dirty.
