Viva Mas is my go-to Mexican restaurant in Bloomington. The prices are very affordable and the food is delicious. They bring out warm chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. The chicken and steak fajitas are outstanding. We shared the double order, which costs $23, and it was more than enough food for both of us. The fajitas come with rice, beans, and four tortillas per person. The meat is well seasoned and I really... View all feedback.
What Matt C doesn't like about Viva Mas Mexican:
The service was the downfall of our experience at this restaurant. The lively atmosphere is worth a visit at least once. The food was mostly great, with the exception of the extremely spicy steak street tacos. The service, unfortunately, was terrible. Despite being seated quickly and having our drink orders taken promptly, our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time after we asked for a few more minutes to deci... View all feedback.
The atmosphere of the Mexican restaurant is exactly what you would expect, with a great ambiance that makes you feel like you're in Mexico. The quality of the food is also good, with each dish coming with a side that includes rice, beans, salsa, and salad. The dishes are cooked in a furnace and served immediately in heavy black iron plates, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. Moreover, the portion sizes are generous, making the food a great value for its size and quality.
Shredded chicken nachos on the Lunch Special #8 was very good. The chimichanga combo dinner was very tasty. Drinks were a little pricey. Good service even when they were packed at lunch.
This place is absolutely AWESOME! The restaurant wasn't very busy when we got there so we got seating immediately, and the service was great... after we ordered I went to the bathroom and our food was back before I was. And the food!! DELICIOUS... Will definitely visit this place when I'm next in Bloomington. (don't mind the already taken bite.... I WAS SO EXCITED TO EAT IT! it doesn't come that way promise..
This was some of the worst Mexican food I've had in a long time. The sauces were watery, with a strange film upon all of the cheese. The beef was grainy and the chicken was dry. The severe lack of flavor in all of the dishes was disappointing, and reminded me of an overpriced taco bell. I wouldn't come here for anything but a comically oversized margarita.
The food and service was really good! The food came out very fast! There are a lot of nice items on the menu. My fajita was excellent it came with beans, rice, and tortillas. The price was reasonable.
