Great Place, was refered by a school professor to this new Venezuelan place, como Venezolano lo certifico, great arepas y tequeños. And the top on the cherry, Tio Simón and La Resistencia walls , made my dinner. View all feedback.
What Alexis Gulgowski doesn't like about Arepas Venezuelan Gastropub:
The line girl seemed very confused about the whole process and she was hard to hear. They don't give you nearly as much salsa as I would like. The flavor of the arepas was amazing though. View all feedback.
Food was good, so many choices you could go every day and get a different combo every time. We had the arepas and rice bowls. Both were good. There are empanadas and some other things I want to try next time. So I guess you 'd say we will definitely go again. *Editing to update our 'two thumbs up ' that all containers are biodegrade and so are the utensils. This means a lot to my family so DEFINITELY want to go back.
The food here is GREAT. They're still working through the bugs of having a brick and mortar and things can be slow at the bar or if your order one of the hot foods that isn't an arepa or a bowl. Everyone is nice and you should definitely try it out remember to be patient.

Had high hopes, but ended up super disappointed. First, I had to ask the person serving us to change her gloves after watching her handle money (both coins and bills) and then try to touch our food. It appeared like they had a lot of options to choose from and the salsas and veggies looked fresh, so I decided it was likely just an accident. Ordered a rice bowl, but when she removed the lid the rice had clearly been sitting there for a while and was brown and stuck to the bottom of the pan. I heard the girl comment that more rice was coming, but no mention of giving me the option to wait for fresh. I asked for chicken as my meat selection, only to find they were waiting on more chicken to be cooked as well. She said it would only be a couple of minutes so I stood off to the side to wait. After several other customers went in front of me, I watched as she picked up the rice bowl she had dished out for me several minutes before and pick small dried pieces of chicken out of the container and say, “I think there’s enough here to work.” I told her I would rather wait for the fresh items. Once the fresh chicken came out, she spooned it out on top of the old rice and old chicken, which had been sitting out for at least 10 minutes at this point. By this time I was so furious and disgusted I felt like it wasn’t even worth complaining. It seems like a cool place and a good idea, but the logistics of eating there will deter me from returning. Also, they were out of avocado and none of the fountain drinks worked except Sprite. Just a cherry on top of a pretty pathetic experience. Bummer.
