The gyro was so dry... read more Honestly I’m surprised at how high the reviews for this place are. I’m not a picky eater, but what we got delivered was barely even edible. The gyro was so dry it immediately made me choke (literally, my mom had to give me back blows) and the “oven baked chicken” tasted like it had been frozen for weeks and looked NOTHING like the picture online. (See attached images of what was advertised vs what was received. Again, i’m not a picky eater but the food was just straight up nasty. The flavor of the gyro was comparable to that of a school’s breakfast patty. The chicken was stringy and dry, barely tasted like meat at all. The peta bread was also, well — dry. Everything was dry and bland. The rice was also half-cooked and noticeably chewy with a strange vinegar-like flavor. The chickpeas also tasted old. The ONE thing I liked was the tzatziki sauce, which I put on almost everything to try and cover up the dryness — to no avail. I don’t know if it was just a rough night in the kitchen but i was honestly very disappointed because I’ve heard good things about Sofra. I can’t say i’ll be ordering from here again. Tasted like two-week old leftovers.

(Gyro meat w/tomato sauce,rice and yogurt) a traditional Turkish dish I was told. Very tender and delicious. But I actually went to try the kunefe. And WOW!! Maybe the best desert i have ever had. Will for sure be back. Two people could easily share a meal and Kunefe. Service: Dine in

The staff com... read more Sofra Cafe is an excellent local restaurant located just a few blocks off of the main square. The ambiance when you first walk in feels like home. The staff come out of the kitchen to greet you and sit you at a table. Everything is made fresh so it takes a while to get the food but it is all worth it. We had the gyro plate and the meatballs, both were excellent. I loved that the meatballs came cooked with peppers and onions in the tomato sauce with it. The homemade bread made the dish even better. The gyro plate was also excellent, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portions are good, you will not leave hungry. After dinner we had the Turkish Tea. This is the best and most authentic Turkish tea I have had outside of Turkey. Overall an excellent restaurant that I recommend everyone try!

I had the brunch buffet, which was full of many varied and flavorful options, and she had a soujouk pide. The food was excellent, and since she has spent a fair amount of time in Turkey, she is familiar with the food and flavors. She found it to be authentic and very tasty. We were greeted warmly when we first entered, and treated kindly and warmly through our entire time there. The overall experience was excellent, and that will not be our only visit to Sofra. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant!

I enjoyed my first gyros there today and was it ever delicious. I didn’t know if it would be as good as the ones I’ve had downtown, but it was. Delicious. I’ve had several baked goods in the past and especially love the baklava. Reasonable prices for high quality and wonderful tasting food. I highly recommend. Check the hours before planning to go.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly. I tried the dry dolma, and it was perfect! Others in our group enjoyed the Turkish gyro and İskender, and they were both excellent as well. We all agreed that the kunefe for dessert was an amazing finish to the meal. I highly recommend this place!

The quality of the food is outstanding, with their pides, lahmacun, and baked dishes being particularly noteworthy. The prices are reasonable, especially for the house-style baked items, which are surprisingly affordable. Following their recent renovation, the restaurant has become more spacious, making it a great spot for gatherings and longer visits.

I did not ask, but I really want to know the names of the owners (an amazing couple with passion for Turkish cuisine! . I sincerely enjoyed their relaxed, friendly approach to running the caffe. I deliberately leave details because everyone has to check this personally. Turkish farewell is nowhere else made. Many thanks and I will come back much more!

Their standard gyro wrap is packed with flavor, excellently spiced, and huge portion compared to a few of its competitors. The food is incredible and reasonably priced for the fantastic flavors and taste. The sheer amount of options on the menu will keep me coming back and I can't wait to try their lunch buffet which smelled amazing. The service staff is gracious and attentive and restaurant space is cozy, quite, and relaxing. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back.
