The food was absolutely amazing. Extremely delicious. We had the bread, burrata, escargot, pate, steak frites, artichoke char and the banofee dessert. Cocktails were great and the staff made great recommendations. . The staff was attentive and lovely to deal with. Really nice ambiance. There’s a little outside patio with a fire pit. Just fantastic. Will be back.

Years without dinning out is a long time. good that is worth waiting to make the night of our first couples a great experience in flame and smith in picton. on a cold morning they are greeted by a beautiful fire outside the beginning and the smell follows them in an open but cozy feel restaurant. beautiful front terrace, which can be opened for the rest of the restaurant, is available in warmer weather. the dishes were extremely tasteful and perfect. we ordered the escargot and shrimp cocktail cups and then shared a main course steak. everything is good and more than enough. they save space for dessert because they were beautiful and generous. a large selection of wine and cocktails to season the evening. next time we make the trip to the opposite we will return to try the choice menu of the cook! make them a reservation as this is a popular place and we discovered why. so much careful to detail and personal are friendly, knowledgeable, but can also be dined. they bring their credit card with them, because they can easily be tempted by the weeping and other choices. the price in these expensive times worth.

The staff here are super friendly and the venison rack was one of the best cuts of meat I've eaten in a very long time melt in your mouth tender, juicy, and flavourfully spiced, but no so heavily that you couldn't taste the meat. And thank goodness for that, because the meat was of very high quality, and a pleasure to eat.The sourdough was also fantastic, crispy and smoky on the crust, but soft and chewy on the inside.The only complaint I have was that I expected a few more vegetables to come with the dish. There was a good variety of delicious mushrooms, but only two Brussel sprouts which was a shame because they were delicious, but I barely got a chance to enjoy them.

However, I must give one star due to the host's behavior. Upon our arrival, he attempted to seat my partner and me at the bar, claiming there was no space in the main dining room. We were clearly dressed for a nice evening out and it was evident we were visitors to the area. When I declined and asked for alternative seating options, we were awkwardly placed in an empty dining area to the right. From my seat, I watched several groups of 2, 3, and 6 get seated in the main dining room, while he took their coats with ease. We had to take care of our own coats. He even gave me a tight-lipped, insincere smile when I walked past him after using the restroom. Yes, we are people of color. Yes, it is Black History Month. And yes, we felt dismissed. This behavior upset my partner deeply and nearly ruined our night out. If there had been other quality dining options available at that hour, we would have left.
