My wife and I really like this part of the whole “Fasanerie” ensemble. I'm assessing what happened at midday here. The service is excellent. Absolutely professional. The food and wine menus are not only well designed, but they are fun to choose from. And what comes to the table is very fine, in other words super tasty.
We had dinner with seven people. The restaurant is nicely located. The furnishings are not modern. Address. The quality of the food was very good. I had a fillet steak. The price was 52€. It was regular Anggus beef. Nothing special. I thought that for that price there would also be side dishes like potatoes or something else. But actually only the meat came with a few vegetables on the side. I estimate the weight at 150-180 g. For me that wasn't enough. It looked more like an appetizer to me. If you have a starter, main course and dessert, you will be full. I would have gone to McDonald’s afterward just for the main course. It's just missing some kind of supplement. And for €52 that's beyond all proportion. So you can easily expect to pay €100 per nose. And not even with an excessive amount of drinks. We had calculated the €100 for a bottle of wine for two people. However, the bottle of wine was the cheapest at €37.00. Wine bottles are available in the high three-digit range. We had seen the prices online beforehand. However, we thought, or I thought, that I would be full with the main course. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Not close. You have to know that when you go there. It's always subjective. For me, I would say that there are equivalent restaurants at a price where you only have to pay a third of the quoted price. And also maintains the same quality.
Went to Esslibris over Easter and chose the vegan menu. The starter and the soup tasted wonderful and were very visually appealing. However, the so-called main course left such a bad impression that unfortunately only 3 stars can be awarded. On the plate were various types of raw beets, most of them like peeled carrots, along with green asparagus, garnished with a few spinach leaves and some celery puree. The whole thing was served almost cold, no hint of seasoning, and bone dry without any oil or sauce, which such a dish desperately needed. It's not possible to offer something like that as a main course, among other things because it doesn't leave you feeling full! Please be sure to take this dish off the menu! We would like to come back.
We were staying at the hotel with a couple of friends and had dinner here in the evening. We started with the smoked salmon tartare, followed by surf and turf, and for dessert, the Heavenly Temptation. As an aperitif, we treated ourselves to the 2000 port, and with the main course, we had a Nebbiolo d'Alba. We had a very pleasant, relaxed, and enjoyable evening. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.
