What Jenny Ost doesn't like about Texas Cannon Brewing Co:
Dog-friendly? Yes! Even on a chilly afternoon, our waitress was attentive and friendly, making sure we felt welcome. The brisket was incredibly tasty, served on a fresh bun with smoky BBQ, pickles, and coleslaw as toppings. The sweet potato fries were also really fresh and delicious. We’re so glad we decided to stop in during our drive! View all feedback.
I visited during the Lavender Festival, and I thoroughly enjoyed the beers. The Bock, Oktoberfest, and Lavender beer were all excellent. Additionally, the burgers and paletas were fantastic. Highly recommend! Moose Out.
My last visit was just a few months ago. The beers they offer are quite good, and the bartender was attentive. My wife and I really enjoy their stout—so much so that we used to get growlers of it. However, we stopped because each time we refilled, the beer had a soapy taste. Regarding the food, it's typical bar fare—nothing impressive, just standard fried options and uninspired sandwiches. On a positive note, the place is clean; it’s just unfortunate that the service doesn’t match that standard. When we arrived, a friendly female server seated us right away and took our drink order, although she mentioned she wasn't our actual server. We didn’t think much of it until our drinks arrived, and our real server seemed disinterested in being there. He brought us the wrong drinks and, when we pointed it out, he blamed the other server instead of fixing it himself. We decided to order food despite the rocky start. Unfortunately, our order was also incorrect. My daughter requested an Italian sausage pizza and got pepperoni instead. My wife and I ordered chicken sandwiches, asking for them to be tossed in our favorite wing sauce, but the server forgot that request and served the sauce on the side. Throughout our time there, he was lackluster, acting as if we were a bother. It’s disappointing, especially for a neighborhood spot. I’ve seen others have better experiences, but I cannot recommend the food or service, and I wouldn’t return with my family. If you do decide to try it, I hope you have a better experience than we did. I do recommend the beer—just drink it there instead of getting a growler. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
I went on a busy Saturday, the weekend of the Blanco lavender festival. Typically you grab your own table, but considering how busy it was, we stood in line for a table. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but we expected it. Once seated, everything went smoothly and quickly. We ordered immediately and were served our drinks within a few minutes. I had the seasonal lemon lavender lager. It was crisp, but I didn't really get the lavender notes. I ordered the pretzel to go along with it. The pretzel comes with the best queso. The pretzel filled me up, so I ended up ordering the kids grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were the best. I am so glad that I ordered those instead of the regular fries. Do yourself a favor and order the sweet potato fries as well. Our table ordered the pickle fries.. I had never had them before we all enjoyed them. All the workers were super busy, but they never showed how stressed they were. They were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. Parking is available upfront and on the street, but shared with the other other businesses.
Small local restaurant. Food was great! Restaurant was clean. Staff wasn't the friendliest or super attentive. Other than that experience was good.
This place is a perfect brew pub. The beer is great and the food definitely delivers. Hard to understand some of the reviews as it is obvious those folks haven't been to a brew pub before. The service is spot on and they go out of their way to be helpful. As far as the place itself, well let's say good food, good beer, add a family friendly atmosphere and you have a win, win! Try the Texas cheese steak with sweet potato fries, trust!
