Felt like I walked through Doraemon 's dokodemo door to Japan ! Great strudel like pastry with azuki and salt sprinkled on top. In addition, their croissant was spot on- a little flaky but not too buttery. Also, the service was spot on, just like in Japan. I 'll definitely be back ! View all feedback.
What YourSecretDiner doesn't like about Japonaise Bakery Cafe In Brookl:
Really such a disappointment- we came after seeing all the great reviews and pictures and were truly excited. While being in there there were some pastries and some displayed so low that the coats were rubbing against the food.. View all feedback.
Tried the Totoro pan , Boston cream and matcha croissant. Taste was average. Definitely overrated!
Truly a bakery worth visiting. they have a great offering of japanese pastries that are great as crowd pleasers or as personal treats. The matcha cream is so deeply flavorful, lightly sweet, and rich. Their choux pastry is so light and crisp. I will be a regular here as long as I am in Boston!
Tasty Japanese bakery in Brookline. Some seek-after items run out pretty quick. Most of customers are in for takeout especially during winter as the store is limited in space. Friendly staffs. Beware of store hours as it is limited and varried, better call before come to confirm.
Keep the great food after renovation, just a little bit pricy, but i think it worth the money
Really good Japanese bakery! I really enjoy stopping by for onigiri (makes a good snack). Their melon pan is amazing! The cookies is still crispy, while the bread itself is super soft, not too sweet! I've also enjoyed the curry bread, but I recommend heating it up before enjoying. Their hours can feel a touch wonky since they're only open half a week and it's a small place so it can get cramped. The prices can feel high, but I think the quality makes up for it (and the fact that it's hard to find other places selling Japanese pastries around here). Overall highly recommend!
