The Top Chippy - Blackpool
The Top Chippy
Description
A recent visit to a local fish and chip shop has left diners disillusioned and dissatisfied. Many have reported an array of poor experiences, with soggy and undercooked chips, tasteless gravy, and unappetizing pies. The once-celebrated fish was deemed greasy and inedible, raising questions about the establishment's accolades. Patrons also expressed frustration over inflated prices that do not match the subpar quality, leading to a unanimous recommendation to seek alternatives. Overall, this chippy has failed to deliver on its promises, leaving customers feeling as though they have been shortchanged.

I should have read the reviews before ordering food from this restaurant. I got fish and chips, a battered sausage, and curry sauce to go. My complaints are that the fish was small and the curry sauce was bland for the price I paid. I was given the option of regular or small size fish and chips, and if that was a regular size, I feel sorry for anyone who orders a small. The fish was the same size as the battered sausage I got, and the curry sauce was watery with no flavor. I paid nearly £13 and expected a decent size fish, but was disappointed. I wondered if I was charged for a regular size but given a small size. The chips were okay with a generous amount, but the battered sausage was not great. Where I live, a sausage costs £1.80 and the same price battered, but at this shop, it was £2.40 and an extra 40p to have it battered. These prices are more like what I would expect in London. This meal would have cost £9.85 at my local spot with a fish twice the size. The restaurant part of this business is called Bispham Kitchen, but it is all one premises.
Wow, i have spent my life in this industry, and this chippy was quite low in my ranking. Having taken dozen plus scouts, they all complained about the quality. The chips were dried out, the pies were also quite dry, and for me at least, the portions were minuscule. The only redeeming part of our visit was that the service was excellent, poles apart from the food they were serving! Blackpool isn't short of fast food outlets, so we will certainly WON'T be returning!
Went to takeaway for Meat and Potatoe pie and chips, pie was uneatable,I estimate it had been in heated shelf for at least 24 hours to the extent that meat was black and solid.Chips were re fries.I am not a local person and have culinary qualifications.AVOID.
This restaurant is not worth the high price. The food was not good, and it was served cold. The steak pudding was especially bad, and the fish and chips were the worst. The side orders of peas and gravy were small and cold as well. I was told they had run out of certain items when I arrived at the till.
