I was surprised by how busy it was, as we hadn't made a reserv... read more I visited this restaurant for the first time in years on a Tuesday evening in October for dinner. I was surprised by how busy it was, as we hadn't made a reservation, but we were able to get a table. Many tables were reserved, but there were still some unoccupied during our visit, which was a bit strange. It's probably best to book ahead even on quieter days. The restaurant itself is charming, with excellent staff and delicious food at reasonable prices.

Vile service from staff, after complaining about lasagne which was burned and inedible after declining it be remade (the rest of the table had finished eating it had taken so long of back and forth from staff member) who I assume as management approached the table to ask what was wrong and stated it would be remade I the pasta was so burned it was hard burned around all sides after explaining this and the fact it had taken long enough offered refund with attitude and processed to snatch the plate from under, as if I was in the wrong for wanting refunded his attitude was absolutely vile I am still waiting on an apology or any sort of acknowledgment of how bad the food looked and was…..also problems with other Food which arrived order was wrong we were given food substitute instead of what was ordered (with out asking would this be okay did we like the substitute would we like to Order something different) we were told that’s what they had!kids food also well over cooked! How anyone can run a restaurant with this type of attitude and customer service is beyond me. Although I do understand things like can and do happen from time to time that could it be accepted was it not for the attitude of management. most definitely Avoid.

I was treated VERY poorly by staff during a visit earlier this year with my two children and I complanied at the time, but was ignored. I left a negative review, which was ackgnowledged and I was asked to contact the venue directly by e-mail, which I did.. three times... and was then ignored again. It's a shame, as I used to be a regular visitor... but havent been back since this!

Writing this review today as on mo... read more This is my family's go to pub for all our special occasions. Great atmosphere, food is always amazing, especially the Gammon. Writing this review today as on more than one occasion, staff members have gone above and beyond for me. A server Steven who went out of his way to make my Son birthday special my son is in the Spectrum, so can be challenging for him). He is a credit to the pub. Also my nan enjoy her afternoons here due to the friendly welcome , Karen u make my nans day so thank u. Overall great pub Good prices .

Friendly welcome. Great food at good prices and a great selection of beer. Highly recommended. I noticed on menu that there are Sunday Roasts on a Sunday for less than £9. I'm sure they will be great. I will be back ! I had see photo) 8oz Rump Steak meal for £8.49 and a pint of cider for £4.45 . Both great !
