Papa's Fish Chips - Blackpool
Papa's Fish Chips
Description
Nestled in a clean, modern space, this restaurant offers an intriguing vegan twist on traditional fish and chips with its "tofish" option. While the attentive staff and pleasant atmosphere enhance the dining experience, many diners find the battered silken tofu somewhat bland, needing added seasoning to elevate its flavor. The vegan-friendly chips, gravy, and various sides receive praise for their taste and preparation, particularly as they are cooked in separate fryers. New additions like a spiced cauliflower pie reflect the restaurant's commitment to plant-based options. Though opinions on the tofish are mixed, the friendly service and hearty portions keep patrons returning.

Nice to find a vegan option and easy to read Allergens menu shows a lot of pages are vegan too. Also do Hiumi for Veggies. Now only a vegan dessert needs!
Reviews led me to believe that this was a good choice. The food lasted an hour to arrive and the pages were not included until they were asked. Poor hygiene (hair with chips) The "fish" option was however tofu battered and fritted without trying to make it "fishery" as most other restaurants do. If it is your only option, then it is edible, but overall I would not recommend it.
We went there and had the fish and chips. Everything in all was beautiful. Staff really friendly, place modern a neat. It's okay. Size of portions really good. But the Tofish was literally cut pure tofu pieces into dough. We had to add a lot of salt lemon and ketchup. But nice kind of simple fast food.
I was looking forward to visiting this place as they had the option of vegan fish and chips. The menu listed Tofish and chips. The service was great and the place was clean and well presented. The food arrived, which I had tofish, chips, gravy and mushy peas. The tofish was just cubes of silken tofu deep fried in batter. And as all vegans will understand, unless tofu is prepared and flavoured, the tofu is rather bland and tasteless. Which in this case, it was. The chips are vegan friendly as they do fry separately from meat and fish products. And the gravy is also vegan friendly.
